At least, that's how it looked after I'd bullet-listed the lead-up to the story's end. It read like a nightmare, with complication after complication. But that is before the dilution with words and sentences. Condensing a large work down to an event list was sure to present me with a headache, though it was a necessity as I realised I needed more instruction from myself as to what was happening. Every event was a conflict, one person against another, friction, pursuit, entrapment, evasion, escape... a lot more than that, I hope, but an event list was desperately needed: I felt swamped!
I must be honest, getting to the end of July with only a third of it done, never mind half, will feel like an achievement. But only if it reads through, with the ending of each chapter making the reader want to read the next.
I did all right tonight - cleared a few ideas/thoughts. Still more than a few to get right, but the road is a lot less than it was. I know I have to keep the momentum going, try to engineer writing opportunities as often as I can. But it was a good step tonight, without writing chapters out. I'll sleep less fitfully ;-)

You know, it takes a certain gift to have everyone quoting you years after you’ve said something. But I guess it takes an even greater gift to have the thing just about come true. Yep, I’m pretty sure, now, that everyone will become world-famous for fifteen minutes – and blogs just moved the spotlight that little bit closer.
So, here we go: lights, camera, action!! Umm, actually I’m not quite ready yet – gimme fifteen minutes…
